Graduate jobs are just about as hard to come by these days as real jobs are. While they are very similar to real jobs, they pay considerably less and are usually occupied by graduate students. Or students who are in there post degree status in college. Those going to get their masters. There are so many of these students at one time and so few jobs that it makes competition quite intense to get these jobs, hence the low pay and poor working conditions. I was looking at business telephone systems. There is nothing that beats a stadard telephone line when it comes to doing business. All of the years of my youth I can only remember the phone system at home going down a couple of times. The landline phone system even worked when the power was off because they have a built-in battery backup system. We could be sitting in the dark during a terrible thunderstorm, and a relative could still get a call through to check on us.

I thought about that when it comes to a business phone system. The VOIP systems use the Internet to carry the telephone calls. I know from personal experience that the Internet has gone down quite a bit more than my landline telephone ever did. In order to run an effective and profitable business, I need to have communications up and running for every hour our business is open.

I have grown to rely on the reliability that a telephone landline offers, and that is why I was looking for the best affordable business landline offers that are still out there. I think that the call clarity and quality beats any other type of phone service, and it is nice hearing that good old dial tone when I pick up a telephone handset. I was worried that all business telephone services were moving toward different technologies that do not yet have all the wrinkles ironed out. It was nice to see that there are still landline offers for business customers still out there that are competitively priced.

I also think that nothing beats a good landline system if you have a lot of call volume. I do not want customers getting a busy signal. We also wanted a voicemail system that would not give us any trouble. Staying competitive in a tough market is easier when your method of staying in touch with your customers works when you need it too.

If you’re running a business, event or the like then it might be a good idea to look into employing a staff survey. I try to use these for every event that I run simply to get an idea of how my staff is feeling, what they think about the event and to turn my ear toward any ideas that they might have. I’ve noticed that a lot of individuals who consider themselves ‘in charge’ often ignore the good ideas that their employees may have, simply on the basis that they are, in fact, an employee. However, I have had several of my employees offer great advice and ideas that I have put into action and in turn rewarded the employee for said concepts. A business should be seen as one organism working toward a greater idea rather than a multitude of individuals working for many different ideas. If you treat everyone with the same level of respect and consideration you treat the higher level management, you will see a great difference in how your company performs. Continue reading »
